zen and the art of finding the grocery store
For a task oriented person, such as myself, this life of process takes a bit of getting used to. For instance, we set out early this morning to do some grocery shopping - planning to return by lunch. Before we collected on the departing dinghy, it started raining, so we waited. Then when the cloud cover broke, we left, again, heading along the creek to what looked like a shortcut to the grocery - alas, it wasn't so short, we couldn't find the cut, there was nowhere to leave the dinghy, and a fellow boater advised us that due to the distance yet to travel, just go back to where we started and take a bus. Okay, simple, yea right. The first bus stop was not the right one, then the bus was an hour late arriving to the right stop. Well, we did finally arrive at 3:00. After completing our shopping expedition with two very wound up boys (for some reason that game "battling tops" kept coming into my head), we eagerly climbed onto the awaiting returning (?) bus, enjoyed the long scenic bus ride in the opposite direction we were heading, then transferred an hour later (with our perishables) to the appropriate bus. The good news is, public transportation has replaced planetariums for lulling Elias to sleep.
